Easter Weekend

Maundy Thursday we took the whole family to church and were VERY proud of the kiddos.  Service started at 6:30 and we left at 7:45 only because it was probably going to be another 15-20 minutes, NOT because of any behavior issues.  Margaret was in the nursery, but Matthew cooperated (sucking so vigorously on his binky that half of the congregation could hear!), and Andrew was amazing.  With nothing even to color, he sat quietly and attentively listening to the music and the scriptures.   We talked about communion on the way (which he already “had down”) and again on the way home.  He’s certainly saying all of the right things.  Passing up other books tonight, he wanted to read in the Bible the stories from the Last Supper through the Resurrection.  Who knows what he comprehends, but he’s awfully excited and heading in the right direction.  It certainly makes the heart smile.

Let the picture negotiations begin.

And so we start with just Andrew...and a glimpse of Molly, always eager to join in.

Margaret is always more interested in what Andrew's doing than in anything else.

...except that sometimes now it's Matthew's where abouts that steal her attention.

Happy Crew

We're finally getting some real, non-"cheesy" smiles out of Andrew.

Margaret's standard "WHOA" expression

Doesn't she look like a perfect little angel here - ha!

Carrying on the Killian tradition, Easter baskets are hidden.  Thankfully, they said, even Matthew found his!

"Hmmm.  What you doin', Little Man?" Margaret's favorite line these days.

Easter baths - fun for all!  I'll let your imagination envision how much water ends up on the floor when all three are in there together as Andrew and Margaret are already teaching Matthew their bathtime shenanigans - let's just say they are anxious for the beach this summer!

Egg Hunts & Races...

I lost my editing software with my new computer, so these shots are not only abundant, but not cropped.  I am choosing to be patient with that until resolved, in the name of keeping up with my postings.  If I wait to post until my editing ability is back, Matthew may be running in these races shown below!

Margaret chose her "running suit" attire so that she could be appropriately ready for all of the day's racing.  Afterall, she would be competing with kids more than twice her size!

Charlottesville High School annual egg hunt and spring fling.  Fun and convenient, but we'll probably check out UVA's next year.

ACAC's race and egg hunt at Adventure Central - numbers on and ready to go!  I love how they encourage exercise before pigging out on candy the rest of the day!

Post race medals.  Hopefully we'll all finish and get one!

Look how many baskets I can carry all by myself!

"Hi, Dad!"

Posed at the starting line and ready to go.

Ready, set, go!

Love the wind in her cheeks, showing how hard she was running.

We did a warm up lap earlier and skipped nap, so Margaret walked the last 10 yards to the finish line, huffing sweetly, "I tired.".

Her SECOND medal!

So proud of herself, and with good reason.

And the 5 & 6  year olds are off!

Shortly after this shot, Andrew would be tripped up and take a serious fall...hole in pants, bleeding knee---you get the picture.  But he hopped right back up, didn't even look for us, and continued the rest of the race as if nothing happened.  He was definitely in some pain afterwards, so we were VERY proud of him for soldiering on and finishing the race.  We are making big strides!

Margaret's egg hunt after the race.
Now for the neighborhood egg hunt!  She's perfected it by now, so watch out!
