After bath tonight, I was compelled to tickle the ivories
rather than dart back to the kitchen. I picked
up the hymnal and it fell open to “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”. I started playing, but couldn’t keep the
hymnal open. I called Andrew and asked
him to hold it open for me and to sing.
Glorious! He was completely into
it, proud that he could read it, and sang all four verses for me. But I wasn’t off the hook. He asked me what was next. The other two got anxious so I turned on the
TV and went back in. I took a break and
he hollered into me, “Mom? Why did you
stop playing??”. I can only pray that he
has inherited my love for music.
