Mulch day! After weeding the entire, overgrown play area, it was finally time to lay out the long-planned experiment....layers of cardboard boxes and newspaper to create a a biodegradable barrier for the weeds. That would be 86 boxes.
The boys were awesome and hauled all of the saved boxes from the garage to the yard.
Little man was amazing!
Down went the boxes, and then 3 cu yards of playground mulch wheeled from the driveway DOWN the grassy hill to the playarea. 2.5 hours of wheeling and spreading and voila!
Thanks to Mom, I have flowers that have survived the entire summer for the first time!
Have naked, but loving his tiara.
Copperheads have been more abundant this year than usual. Ran into this one late one evening and decided to see exactly what it takes to kill the devil. Apparently running it over twice with a Tahoe is eventually sufficient.
I've never seen Andrew so excited to get mail, and it was his new, personalized Bible.
Matthew was mesmerized for a good half hour by the aerating next door.
You never know what's going to do it.
If it's not one thing after my tomatoes, it's another.
This thing was impressive! My tomatoes no longer are.
Thanks to Emily's stash in Columbus,
we have anew butterfly to march to the bus stop.
Note to self: Don't leave the groceries within reach.
There are no words.

Back into legos again...but without any instructions this time.
Not gonna give up until he figures it out!
