The ACC and Birthday Bashes to Boot!

We flew the Foxes in from Scottsdale for a lovely evening at the Clifton Inn.  Doesn't get much better than good food, fine wine, and the best of friends!

Pastor Tom pulling double-duty - rehearsing and grand-parenting Presley, Matthew and Ella...what we love about a smaller church.

Our first time in beautiful Kingsmill, Williamsburg.  With the ACC in Brooklyn this year, we all bailed on the travel and most of us met in Williamsburg for a weekend of field trips, basketball, and cousin soccer games.  Mom and Dad and Ernest and Shirley rented a few lovely places for us all.

The token DOG street picture after the live "Order in the Court" session.

Dody and some of her grands with the guns....hundreds of them.

The weaver fascinated adults and kids alike.  "You mean they had to make their own yarn before they could even sew their own clothes???"

Matthew did remarkably well in our Capitol and Governor's Palace tours despite my very legitimate fears.

Here's to Grandmommy and Granddaddy!  Miss them so.

When you have plenty of candles for the joint 9 and 10-year-old March 12th birthdays but no lighter or matches, you appease Dody by faking it for a picture:-)
The signature Crim Dell at the heart of William and Mary.
Yet they started so far away from each other...

Well this has NEVER happened...our generation allowed time for a drink thanks to gracious grandparents.  Hopefully there will be a next time, and including the missing 5, too!

Teaching them how to be a Chi O... more relevant for one, potentially, than the other three, but hey.  They were having fun!

Random memory of Andrew 6 years ago.  As a 3 year old, he was obsessed with Mac, filling it with cars, and sleeping next to it every night....with Woofy and Stand-In.  Oh, how my heart longs for the simplicity of those days.

Margaret's precious Sunday lacrosse clinics with the UVA women's team - God bless those women for taking time every week in the middle of their season to give back to the community by encouraging young girls.

This birthday weekend was book-ended by brunch celebrating Jenn...
...and a fine tour/tasting at Vitae Spirits followed by dinner at Junction with these best of friends and their sometimes better halves:-)  The margarita there is delicious, but skip the white wine, good grief!

And in between, we proudly celebrated this fine young man's 9th birthday at the Luray Ropes Course.  What a precious gift Andrew is to us, and anyone who knows him.  His heart is bigger than I could have ever imagined a child's could be.

I spy with my little eye...Andrew and Margaret!

And if that wasn't enough for one day, throw in the C'ville 10-miler to start the morning.  Had been having inexplicable knee trouble so started the race in extreme fear of injury and/or not making it home in time to hit the road to Luray.  Can't complain about finishing with 8:14 miles, my middle time of the last 3 years, and without further injury.

While in birthday mode, I looked up these gem of a sequence from Andrew's first birthday at daycare.
What's this and what is it you want me to do with it??

"There.  Is that the picture you wanted??"

"I don't know what this sugar stuff is all about, but I do know what a nap is and I want it NOW!!!"

St. Patty's Day at Preschool!
