Two weeks post colectomy, Mom and Dad were grounded for Thanksgiving, for which we were grateful so we could see them on our Ferguson year. It was the perfect visit filled with cooking and sports, homeschool and piano, shooting and decorating, designing Christmas cards and looking at old family pictures in the attic.
This was quite the conversation, I assure you, full of all sorts of hand gestures on both sides.
Dad was doing remarkably well considering his major surgery.
Back in C'ville for the Friday night Commonwealth Cup,
it took us ONE hour to get through the metal detectors, thus we missed the entire first quarter! Although it was a boring game, it was worth it to chant....
Oh, my favorite pictures of the year! At Ivy Creek Nature Preserve not 5 minutes from our house on a freezing Saturday afternoon, dear friend and talented photographer somehow makes what were three monsters of children that day look like fun little darlings we always enjoy:-)
My very favorite shot from our 2010 session was after we were all done and 2.5-year-old Andrew starting playing in the leaves by the car. Jenn captured a priceless series.

Friday Night Lights! A much more fun way to watch increasingly competitive flag football. But it's late....
Post 8:00pm, we have exhibits A...
B...
...and C...
Matthew insisted that I take a picture of his mohawk that he did all by himself. So, naturally, he put his hand on his hip for the photo op.
Tailgating in Blacksburg with two McGovern families---turns out football shaped cookie cutters really aren't all that easy to find. But a mother does what a mother does to make things happen!
Kiddos ranged from 15 months to 15 years and everyone had a ball!
These fellas have known each other 25 years now.
...and yep...this still happens!
Just chillin'.
Margaret conned Keenan (13) into giving her a piggy back ride all the way across campus. Lord, help us. She did it so very easily!
Underneath the jumbotron showing the players walk from the lockeroom, you can see the players crossing their practice field.
Mark was a trooper just about the whole second half!
Just like last year, Andrew and Carson (11) were like long lost best friends that couldn't get enough of each other. They've even been pen pals this year so they don't lose a beat!
Part of Mom's online silent auction has been a whole slue of autographed UVA sports paraphernalia. Little Man and I go on adventures after school to collect our donations, and somehow this happened in the UVA Athletics office.... interesting what we learned. There is SO much padding in their helmets that Matthew said it was tight on his head!
Enter Sandman
Uh, oh
We're in TROUBLE!!!
The Air and Space Museum early in the month was another big hit, especially since Matthew didn't remember it. We had a few days off of school, so went to see Daddy (plus Sarah & Abby) in the big city!
