Memorial Day in Baltimore

Beautiful Memorial Day in Baltimore!  Celebrating David's high school graduation, cousin Jennifer's birthday, Aunt Susie's 70th and what would have been Dave's 74th birthdays (still can't believe that the siblings shared the same birthday!), and DU in town for the Men's Lacrosse Final Four.

This kid canNOT catch enough fish!!!

Working on her first crabs.  We need her to start hammering for Andrew because he is putting away the crab meat like nobody's business.

I adore this series of Michael with Margaret...
a little something different in each shot.

Meg's Swimming! Swim Team, here we come!

JJ faithfully worked with Margaret ALL last summer and said that she was soooo close to putting it altogether.  And then the school year began and our daily trips to the pool ceased.  But he said he wanted to continue working with her this winter, so we continued to go to Fairview weekly.  Margaret and Matthew were delighted to have the pool to themselves all winter but I am telling you that "heated" pool is COLD when you're not as active as they are in it!

As the winter progressed, JJ assured me that all of the skills were there, just not her willingness to put it altogether...i.e. she was being stubborn.

What?!?  Margaret, stubborn??  We both predicted that the final missing piece was the motivation of her brother swimming in the pool.  So what happened the FIRST day that the pool was open?  Michael hopped in with Andrew and his best friend and Margaret took off after them.  "Look everyone!  I'm swimming!  I'm swimming!  All by myself!!!".  I don't know who was smiling bigger...Margaret, JJ, or Mommy:)   So just like that, she's doing swim team, too.  Whew!

Listening to today's game plan and waiting for their lane assignments.
LOVE to see them doing things together, things that don't involve fighting!

Coach Corie gives great rides
at the end of practice.
