End of Summer Pool Shots

I may have written earlier about how frustrating last spring was regarding Andrew and the pool.  We made the mistake of accidentally keeping him out of the pool from Labor Day through February when he was 3.  The result?  Our end of the summer fish wouldn't put his big toe in the water in February.  He wanted nothing to do with the pool.  So, what does Mommy do?  Start schlepping him to the pool at least once a week all spring to get him comfortable again.  So much for working out during precious gym time!  We went through a menagerie of swim instructions thanks to constantly changing schedules until the outdoor pools finally opened.  Then we were able to get in with Miss Corie at Fairview down the road.  Corie is only 15, but she is amazing with him!  Lessons once or twice a week were great for Andrew, but honestly, I attribute his progress to the fact that Michael travelled very little this summer (thank you, God, for arranging that break over the summer!).  We were able to go to the pool almost daily together.  The one-on-one time with Daddy is exactly what Andrew needed.  Sometime in July, he was legitimately swimming...we're talking ungraceful, but clear freestyle strokes.  Thank you, Lord!  So now the challenge is keeping up with this over the winter.  Fairview has their bubble up and sweet Corie is working him in Saturdays (since her schedule is booked with practice twice a day during the week!).  Now, to get Miss Margaret swimming, who is actually doing all of the right things when she's in the pool!  Gotta get her in some lessons!

Lounging on the Noodle - finally comfortable on it alone!

Noodle swimming - one step closer to the real thing.

Where'd everybody go?
