Woodbrook does a simply amazing job of celebrating MLK, Jr. Day and teaching the children what an impact they ALL have the potential to make. Their annual assembly is powerful and their MLK Day Walk brings out the best in our community. It's amazing to see how much staff comes out on their day off to support this crucial part of their education.

Andrew ran 3 miles at the Walk for a Cause!
Polaroids - so fun!
Pajama Day at Preschool:-)
It's never too early to learn to Tango!
Matthew is finally old enough to join the big kids in the Children's Choir at church and he was SO very proud to sing with them for the congregation...who, in turn, chuckled along with his "blowing" of his light! (70+ yr-old Ray Hogan chuckled, "I don't come to church to see Matthew, but it sure does make it a more joyful experience when I see that child!")
This Little Light of Mine
Andrew was flattered to be given this month's solo. As with all church performances to date, he was not nervous or embarrassed and learned his part the first day he had it. His voice was a little shakey (never had been while rehearsing), but still said it was fun, so we'll take it!.
We Are the Light of the World
When the VT bball team is in town, they catch an early morning work-out and shoot around at our gym and always take a picture with staff and any fans that just so happen to be there at the same time!
Buzz...good guy. And at this posting, he's flying high having just knocked off #8 rival UVA in double-OT last night.
Thanks to neighbor Michael Guthrie, Andrew and I enjoyed the best seats in the house for the Duke-UVA women's game....4th row, center court.
4th year Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer Leah Smith (who Andrew previously met at Fairview) was part of the half-time festivities.
Watching Daddy's year-end video/slide-show of the family never gets old.
Oh, how a Mom's heart flutters when she realizes that her little girl can fit inside her own trunk for camp!
Andrew's guidance counselor: "Andrew gave me
the sweetest card this morning. Gosh, he is really growing up fast, isn’t he?
His handwriting, the way he writes, the way he made eye contact when he gave it
to me – he’s really flourishing! I had a lovely lunch with Margaret again
yesterday too, because another girl in her class invited her. She was
delightful, as always."
