School-wide morning meetings are always fun. A bit of a pep-rally, it's neat to watch the students lead their school, hear about what they've been accomplishing and extra fun when the news is there! This week, the students skyped with a school in Houston for which they had earned more than $400 for hurricane relief. So fun for both schools to see each other! They presented a check, which was matched by a parent's company, and sang the a song, complete with the 4/5 music club.
Highlight of the morning for this Momma, though, was seeing BOTH kids be awarded Student of the Week by their teachers! Thursday evening, we'd been in the office stuffing the teachers' boxes with fliers. Andrew had commented that Student of the Week is always awarded on Friday and that this month's School-Wide Morning Meeting just happened to be on Friday AND that he had never won it at a meeting. I may have just happened to see the stack of certificates in the office and what name did I see on top??? But what I didn't know was that Margaret was in the stack, too!!!! The teachers have no idea what other teachers are doing for this award, so for this to have been the second time in just 2 years that they have both won it on the same day is actually pretty remarkable.....and Andrew being awarded by TWO teachers:-)
