Holy week - the most precious week of the year. The reason for our being.
We always begin with The Tale of Three Trees - the greatest Easter story I've found, for all ages. If you haven't, do yourself a favor and read it. Now.
In lieu of our weekly Wednesday night Simple Supper and service, Meadows has a lovely, touching and moving, quiet Maundy Thursday service. We begin with 30 minutes of special music and continue with an amazing remembrance of Jesus' Last Supper.
We also enjoyed a beautiful Good Friday service at First Pres, but only after enjoying free skate and exhibitions at the ice arena's closing party. Hysterical to see the differences in us...Matthew's progress on the ice has been nothing short of amazing this season. Margaret is now skating circles around everyone else. And Andrew, who played ice hockey for two seasons after taking lessons for two years acted like he'd never been on ice before. RRGGHH. Former hockey player, Dad, of course, still has his touch.

And if Easter is not just as commercially confusing as Christmas, we had to squeeze in some egg hunts and festivals on Saturday to support our neighborhood and our pool. The Dogwood Festival Foundation rented our property this year to have their popular event.
These two children patiently waited 90 minutes for their balloons. Yes, 90 minutes (not 9).
And then He rose again from the dead! Andrew and I enjoyed our sunrise service with 60 other worshipers (only after being tackled by a deer on the way:-( ) before having breakfast with our congregation. A wonderful tradition.
And the kids got to sing on Easter this year! A beautiful, perfect anthem. Mrs. Anderson is doing an incredible job with the kids in only 10 minutes a week.
My Lord, He Died for a Kingdom
Our Small Group member, Hannah Hein, graciously took pictures for folks after the service...the series tells the story of the sass:-)
They begged, and begged, and begged until...
