Duke-GT with Margaret

Incredibly blessed to receive the family pair of Duke tickets for a game this year, I decided to indoctrinate Margaret despite the fact that Andrew would have been over the moon to go.  Our first stop in Durham was quite a shock - Satisfactions is closed!

But Cloud 9 worked just as well.

Excited to stay in a hotel, go to the game, see campus, etc., I'm not sure anything trumped the endless breakfast of carbs:-)

An adventure we hadn't accounted for was not being able to get in our room---even maintenance couldn't fix the lock.  Replacing batteries was a bust, so they had to take the entire lock off of the door to get us in and reunite us with our tickets!

While the massive Duke Gardens are not in bloom, it's still a lovely, long, pleasant walk.

The blue skies are distracting, but can you even see Squirt??

Sitting on the front steps of the Duke Chapel, I suggested she turn around to look for the organ pipes----her reaction to the first time she remembers seeing them...

And off to Cameron Indoor....

The lucky few are camping out from January 12 until the UNC home game on February 20.  12 people per tent.  2 required at all times.  10 at night.  It's an impressive haul, especially during the polar vortex that inevitably strikes at least once.  But having had the experience of a lifetime last year with Andrew under such unusual circumstances, I can completely understand the intrigue to do "whatever it takes" to see Duke-UNC at Cameron.

Always such clever signs...

On the floor!

Hallelujah, Tre Jones is warming up!
Zion. is. SO. BIG!

Admiring, "Robert and Laura Esleeck".  Margaret asked, "Why are they on here?"

Grant Hill!  Such an impressive Hall of Fame inside the stadium.

Loving her reaction to the "Sounds of Cameron"...

She had practiced tirelessly for "Timber" and "Don't Stop Believing" and I have no explanation for why they weren't delivered, but she enjoyed the pregame entertainment none the less.

A great 24 hours with my baby girl.  Such important time.
