Mountain Get-Away

This has become our first routine whenever we see Dody and Granddaddy.  Degenerative disks or sprouting 12-yr-old?  Not sure which is responsible, but I think it's official.

We arrived late Tuesday evening, so first thing on the agenda was early morning fishing.

My early morning work-spot.  Sure wish I could have quarantined here!

Always a treat to enjoy the flowers around the club...and pick Mom's brain about what might actually work, also, in Cville's heat.

Margaret and I were planning ways we could incorporate dahlias into our deck plantings for next summer.

Proof of a good, LONG afternoon at the pool!

My heart....

The excitement of fishing gave way to the challenge of ball retrieval on the approach of #9.

Ta-Da!

And when clothes need to come off in order to get the deepest prize, then by all means!  (He has no idea the muddy, mess Granddaddy had me sloshing through at his age to get balls I could only feel with my toes!)

Every day they all three requested time on the range!  Andrew was thrilled to get some holes in on the course before the Ladies' 9-hole group teed off.

"Here's how tall they are, Mom.  Yes - they will block the neighbor's car from view if they grow this tall on our deck!"

Only 10 minutes into our tennis game, we had the company of a downpour.  Andrew was feeding Matthew and Margaret balls and they didn't care one bit........until the ball stopped bouncing:-(

Our first hike at Upper Creek Falls. Is this possibly the sliding rock that Dody said she thought was here?!?

...cause it's kind of big and steep for a sliding rock....

...and it drops off so dramatically you can't even...

...and while this is pretty, it's not "slidable"...

....cause, yeah....this is kind of "Last of the Mohicans"....no one is sliding down this!

Maybe it's this??

....or this???  I couldn't talk them into giving this a shot...probably a wise choice.

So THIS is it!

My first SOLO fish!

Last morning on the river.

Just a night's work for a little spider.

Well, hello, Tennessee!

Dad arrived!

Social distancing at its best.

The kids loved the Upper Creek Falls trail so much we took Dad back just a day later.

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, The King of creation

O my soul, praise Him for He is thy health and salvation.

All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near.

Praise Him in glad adoration.
