ACC Tournament 2015

(Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom for proof that Charlie must get a balance bike for his birthday!).

Though the 2015 ACC tournament didn't turn out well for any of the teams represented by our family (I'd like to know who, exactly, in the mid-Atlantic cares about Notre Dame???), it was, as always, wonderful to see so much extended family.

We adore it when Marion and Lucy come all the way out from Beeville, TX, especially with wonderful updates on Gene and Ellie's sweet families.

The ACC gathering continues to be the scene of big news for Ernest and Shirley... William and Kristi announced a little one expected October 3rd!  James and Kate made it toting precious 18-month-old Charlie.

Anne and the boys came and Emily finished a week back East with various Fergusons.  Kate and Chris were fulfilling a plethora of parenting duties in Vienna, but it was fun to Skype with them Saturday afternoon.

Laura and Robert graciously hosted the family BBQ and birthday celebration (Alex and Andrew both March 12 along with Robert in March) where Mary Katherine was able to make an appearance amidst tax season and the kids LOVED playing outside in their beautiful yard and perfectly flat driveway.  It was a wonderful weekend of family, though all too short, as always.

The Killian trek to the ACC begins ahead of time with necessary prep....

Matthew has caught on to the sports mania around here.  After riding his balance bike (only diaper and PJ top required for the 3rd child), he comes in with his helmet still on, clutching a football, and plops in front of the TV chanting, "I wan bassetball.  I wan bassetball."

These two sported their favorite team apparel last week for school.  Sadly, Matthew's proud wearing of his W&M jacket wasn't quite enough to get my beloved Tribe into the tourney.   Here's to 2016!

Phew!  First time for Matthew in the sleeping bag with the company of others siblings.  This Little Man typically sleeps far, far away from any other kiddos he might awaken.

Uncle Ern's quote of the weekend, "Wow!  6 months makes a hefty difference, doesn't it???".  True that---Matthew is not hurting for calories and Charlie is as lean as his parents:)

Margaret's ensembles lately have been something else!

LOVING the new Broncos sweatshirt from Dody and Granddaddy!

Does it get much better than watching basketball in a BIG, comfy bed with a few of your aunts??

Praise God for good hotel sleeping!

Now Dad is showing ME something on my phone---and Mom is even plugged in now, too!  I promise we don't all get together just to get on our phones!

Margaret and Matthew were obsessed with sweet, petite Charlie.  This might have been heard at our dinner table tonight:

Andrew, matter-of-factly:  "Margaret, who do you like better?  Charlie or our family?
Margaret, contemplatively:  "Hmmmmm.  Charlie, I think!"

James and Kate----Want a sitter?  Need a little girl to constantly love on your little guy???

Bonus coverage from last week----at least he'll wear the helmet!

Proof that Charlie MUST get a balance bike for his birthday.
They are made for two-year-old boys!

When your friend lives across town, desperately needs an anonymous meal, and is known to be at Target (not 10 minutes from your house), you take a chance and leave it on the car (and wonder when, exactly, she started locking her car!).  There was a period of time during which "we" all thought the meal had been stolen or that with her pregnancy brain she had, in fact, somehow managed to drive off without it.  But alas, we were reassured that the delivery had actually been successful.
