I may be a lot of things...I may not be a lot of things. But one thing that's for sure is that I do not have much creativity running through my veins. Give me instructions or tell me what to do and I will follow through with 110% effort and usually fairly respectable results. But "art time" with my kids does not come naturally to me. Thank you preschool, Bible Study, and MOPS for teaching my kids how to create cool things!
Pinterest.com may be my salvation for the creativity gene that I missed out on. I'd been wanting to get Andrew's artwork OFF of the kitchen table, but without just throwing it all in the bin that I will eventually sift through, so I decided it needed to be displayed...in HIS room. I found a couple of neat ideas on Pinterest.com and combined them to make what I believe is a precious wall. He's now got yardsticks (from the Teacher Supply store - what a COOL place I discovered!), with clothespins superglued to them and cute wooden pieces superglued to those. Finish off with a hammer and some nails and Voila! Very proud Mommy. More importantly, very proud young man!
We made dinner today to take to a neighbor's family (she is in her final days of battling cancer) and while I assembled the quiches during "nap", I had Andrew help with the French Bread after Margaret was down. Do you know how long it takes a 3-yr-old to spoon SEVEN cups of flour into the mixer??? It was perfect. He LOVES doing it, and I cackled while he sported Daddy's "Mr. Killian" apron.
