4 months, etc.

On the 17th, Matthew was officially 4 months.  A day or two before, I had been thinking that he could be rolling over soon.  At 1:30am, less than 2 hours into his 4-month birthday, he indeed rolled over onto his belly (the more challenging of the two movements).  I wonder if he will always be this prompt?!?

Sadly, he was not too pleased about his new position and needing rescuing.  He has since learned to roll both directions, but we need to work on truly mastering this.  I was actually quite impressed with his timing, considering I realized that his crib time has been his only opportunity to practice.  He is otherwise in his carseat, bouncy, bumbo, or being held (to avoid being mauled by Molly or his over-zealous siblings), so has had few chances to attempt this.

At 4 months, we've pulled out all of the equipment....bumbo, exersaucer, etc. and we have clearly seen a shift in his demand for entertainment.

Margaret's end of the year picnic last week.  Oh, how she has LOVED Miss Jill and Miss Pat.  Her eyes light up like you wouldn't believe.

"I LOVE Miss Pat!"

Chillin' with Gincy King

First time I actually saw the rope in action.

Taking a break from riding bikes to love on Baby Matthew.

The bike gang!

Painting with Kella & Caris and real smocks at Miss Mere's house.  My poor children only get over-sized t-shirts at home.

4 months!  I tried ALL day to get a decent smile with the real camera and he would never smile until I took the camera away.  Oh well. This'll have to do.

9 month old Clay is definitely not twice the size of Matthew - celebrating both 17th boys.

Standing at attention, watching the trash truck load the neighbor's branches that they had helped with.  Apparently viewing was better with pink & purple elbow pads.
