The chicks
The handsome audience, day 1.
Matthew watching with Miss Hope and his class, day 2.
Andrew's Kindergarten/1st grade "How Does Your Garden Grow" (a beautiful metaphor for life) was performed for the school, the community and then a nursing home. We didn't know until six days before that Andrew had the lead speaking role, for which he had tried out last week, unbeknownst to us. "Herb, the Gardener" absolutely nailed all of his many lines but, more importantly, he kept saying it was really fun and never showed a hint of nerves. These kiddos clearly did not get their stage presence from their Mom!
Matthew: Break a leg, "Di-dew"!
"I'm Herb, the Gardner. The 'H' is silent, you know?!"
His first few lines.
"Our Work is Never Done"
"Weeds Rule"
"Garden Hoe Down"
"...every one is a forget-me-not."
Michael enjoyed his well-deserved ribbon cutting ceremony near Morgantown, WV with the Governor and about 400 from the community. The hospital is beautiful...now the last push to get everything functioning before the official opening in a few weeks. I couldn't be more proud of his hard work. This makes 4 critical access hospitals in 5 years for him, which I understand to be quite an accomplishment:)
