1st Race, 41st Birthday

"Congratulations Elizabeth on finishing the 2015 Park to Park Half Marathon on April 25, 2015. The weather on race morning was 43 Degrees, Cloudy with Light Rain and No Wind...(except that the light rain was actually sleet!)

There were 43 finishers in the Female 35 to 39 age group and 536 finishers in the race.  Your overall finish place was  147 and your age group finish place was 6.  Your time of 1:52:50.9 gave you a  8:37 pace per mile."

So much fun to go with Laura and Tracy, impressive runners who have encouraged me this year.

The only disappointment about the 1/2 marathon was that Woodbrook scheduled their first annual 5k for the same morning!  Thankfully, Michael was up for taking the crew.  Andrew was tickled to win a prize for 2nd in his age group (his best friend, Garrett, won), which wasn't bad for being held back by a stroller, and Margaret finished 1st in her age group.  Hilarious.

A few days later, Michael enjoyed the ribbon cutting ceremony for his 4th critical access hospital in 5 years, which I understand to be a great accomplishment.  The actual opening won't be for a few more busy weeks, so it's time to get everything that looks so beautiful functioning just as nicely.

We wrapped up the week with birthday celebration #41!  We are thankful for each one and never shy with the candles.  Blessed by each kiddo, too, until the sugar hits their veins!  Ernest and Shirley were in town for the evening...the kids LOVED playing with them and sharing tid-bits of their lives.

Skyping with Charlie

Margaret---our introvert---uncomfortable, as always.

Matthew crawled up in the chair for a while to watch Andrew.  With each made basket, he clapped and announced, "Good job, 'Di-dew'!  Good job."
